
La Montina Franciacorta Extra Brut Rosé | NV
Importer Notes: Franciacorta Rosé like the other bubbly in the region requires a specific blend. There is some flexibility, but the parameters are Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco (max 50%), Pinot Nero (min 35%) & Erbamat (max 10%).
Grapes: 85% Pinot Nero & 15% Chardonnay
Farming: Organic
Vineyard: A blend of vineyards in several provinces of Franciacorta.
Vine Age: 10-25 years
Altitude: 200-500 MASL
Soil: Morainic (ancient glacier melt)
Winemaking: After the initial fermentation and aging the wine is blended with a previous vintage and bottled with the liqueur de tirage (raw sugar cane & yeast) where it undergoes its second fermentation in the bottle and rests for 28 months on the lees. After disgorgement a blend of still wine and raw cane sugar is used for the dosage. It is made in an Extra-Brut style with less than 4g/l of residual sugar.

Tasting Notes: Ripe red berries, bone dry with a fine perlage.
Pairings: Charcuterie and hard cheeses.
