Importer Notes:  ‘For the Father’ is a tribute to the Father of the Rosso di Montalcino DOC.   A designation made possible by Enzo Tiezzi when he was President of the Consorzio of Brunello.

Grapes:  100% Sangiovese Grosso

Farming:  Practicing organic

Vineyard: Castelnuovo dell’Abate area (SW Montlacino)

Vine Age:  25 years 

Altitude:  350 MASL

Soil:  Sandy clay, rich in iron and small stones.

Winemaking:  Native yeast fermentation in Slavonian oak with 20 day maceration.  Aged one year Slavonian oak (10hl & 40 hl).  Unfined/ unfiltered.  Minimal sulphur additions.

Tasting Notes:  Black cherry, red flower, soil.

Pairings:  Pappardelle al Cinghiale.
